Les Lanciers or The Lancers is a square dance, a variant of the Quadrille, a set dance performed by four couples, particularly popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a composite dance made up of five figures or tours, each performed four times so that each couple dances the lead part. It exists in many variants in several countries. Widespread though it was throughout Europe, Les Lanciers became less fashionable by the beginning of the 20th century.
Until 2004, Hager taught Orchestral Conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, continuing a direct line of renowned teachers including Clemens Krauss, Hans Swarowsky, and succeeding Karl Österreicher. From 2005 to 2008, Leopold Hager served as Chief Conductor at the Volksoper in Vienna, conducting their new productions of The Magic Flute, La Traviata, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Les Contes d'Hoffman and Turandot. This ensemble is open to music students, and McGill University students from other faculties. Each year, the McGill Symphony Orchestra presents a varied cross-section of orchestral music from early 18th century classics to celebrated contemporary composers. Its home venue is Pollack Hall, but it also performs regularly in venues such as the Église St. Jean-Baptiste and Montreal’s remarkable Maison symphonique.
This is the second release from RELEASE MUSIC ORCHESTRA, a Jazz/ Rock band out of Germany who formed from the ashes of TOMORROW'S GIFT. Not much to chose between the first two albums as both are excellent but I do prefer the debut more. For what it's worth the Gnosis and RYM sites rate this one higher. We get sax and clarinet besides the usual instruments and even some vocals. This was released in 1975 and features many short(under one minute) tracks plus three longer ones and a couple of average length tunes.

The 100-member University Symphony Orchestra presents an ambitious season of six major concerts per year (two each quarter). Widely known for its imaginative presentations of unusual repertoire as well as for its powerful performances of major symphonic literature, the University Symphony opens each season with a costumed Halloween concert – a family-friendly event enhanced by storytelling, dancing, and special effects – and generally closes the year with a celebratory year-end collaboration with the combined choirs.
