I read a year later that Andy Warhol didn't even write this. Two staff members of his Interview magazine did it based on things Andy said and the way he was. But I loved and related to a lot of the ideas in the book or at least thought they were brilliant in their eccentricity. I really like the part about there are two kinds of people- people who are totally into having sex and are just so into it and the people who can't ever get into because they are so caught up in the idea of "I am having sex".

Andy Warhol opens a window on his creative mind showing what sort of things go through his mind. At times the thoughts seem random, but you get a sense of were he is going with the ideas. He talks about various things, everything from love, to death, to beauty. It is really interesting to see that much of what he says has some type of truth to it which most people can relate to. Andy Warhol's superstar status within the art worlds has always left him with what he would call an "aura" which was really a fabrication of ones imagination. I think that Andy Warhol took great delight in picking the title. It functions as a time capsule from a lost world, kind of like some relic from a 1960s Pompeii. 2 people found this helpful.

Andy Warhol maintains a vivid discourse that defines, in extremely witty and poignant manner, all that was considered contemporary in American culture. The author develops a philosophy of everyday life, a philosophy of mass-culture – that very glossy and lightweight substance of the world that Warhol chose himself to be part of. Never claiming to be objective, the artist still gives his clever judgment to all matters with an absolutely irresistible candor.
