A six-piece from near Rome, Officina Meccanica deserve a mention because judging from their Bambini innocenti single and the TV clip that was released at the time, they could have been a very important group had they ever had the chance of recording an album. The band only released five singles, the first three on the elusive Picci label that also produced La Seconda Genesi. For Crowley personally the Holy Guardian Angel represented the Silent Self, his genuine divine nature. The obtaining of the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guarding Angel was such a vital part of his Abra-Melin Operation that Crowley embodied it in his entire Thelema magic. Also emphasizing the importance of the Holy Guardian Angel to Crowley was the Kabbalistic number of sixty-five which he assigned to The Book of the Heart Girt with a Serpent. Sixty-five also signifies Adonai (one of the Hebrew names for God) as well as Augoeides. The work blend Western esotericism (the heart as the center of the human soul) and Eastern symbolism (the serpent as the rising Kundalini energy and the flowers as the highest chakra of enlightenment, the thousand-petalled lotus Sahastara).
Stranger(s) Soul Intro, released 28 June 2013 I saw him, he was standing over there - a nearly eroded complexion from the things he’s seen. The horror wore his face like sand paper, while the tears carved cracks in his skin so deep that his tears filled them with lakes. His hair, as frail as dried leaves- bid to death by the very sun that keeps him alive. The sorrowful attempt at a smile screams HELP more than hello. His clothes are burnt - burnt from the ember in his heart. Repeated steps were the sound of his war drum. Each step striking the ground with such force his lakes grew deeper
Psychedelic soul should more accurately be called black psychedelia, because, under the influence of Jimi Hendrix, it was sometimes more rock than soul. Formerly a folk group who sang back-up for Dylan, the Chambers Brothers rebuilt themselves in 1967, hooking up with Moby Grape producer David Rubinson and yowling My soul’s been psychedelicised! The abbreviated version was a hit but it’s more mind-blowing in its full 11-minute incarnation, spiralling down an echoey acid-rock rabbithole for so long that the song’s return to normality in the final two minutes feels like waking from a dream. The Beatles-quoting title track goes off like a rocket.
Guardian Angel is the sixteenth rock album by British instrumental (and sometimes vocal) group The Shadows, released in November, 1984 through Polydor Records. Guardian Angel was the group's first album to be released on LP and CD simultaneously and only the group's second CD release. It had the distinction of being the group's only 1980s album to contain mostly original material, except for one track.
