The Sunset Overdrive Soundtrack consists of original punk rock, garage rock and electronic dance music (EDM) songs produced at Pyramind Studios in San Francisco, California. An original score was composed by Boris Salchow. Additionally, there are licensed songs. A total of 42 tracks were produced within a six month timeline. Each song has nine submixes for use with the game's dynamic music system, where the fullness of the song is determined by the player's Style Meter and the amount of action on screen.

Game Over (Nuclear Assault album). Game Over is the debut album by thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released in 1986. In 2005, Game Over was ranked number 287 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time. All tracks written by Nuclear Assault. Note: The cassette version of Game Over featured a track entitled "Lesbians", which did not appear on the CD version. However, this track was later performed on their 1992 live album Live at the Hammersmith Odeon.

OBJECTIVE Over six days, players gain Renown by hiking to beautiful locations to paint landscapes, which they’ll later sell. Each day, players choose a Planning Card, which allows them to travel through the Wilderness and paint (. pick up Landscape Cards). At day’s end, they can sell paintings to earn Renown (. turn in Landscape Cards to gain Commission cards worth Renown). After the sixth day, a final Scoring Phase occurs. Planning Phase: Players draw three Planning Cards and select one for the day. This sets the time they'll leave (initiative) how far they can move, and how many paintings they can paint. Trek Phase: Based on when players started their hike, each player completes their Trek Phase. During their Trek phase they'll move through the Wilderness, paint landscapes, and sell as commissions for Renown. There is also a end of turn check for the Daily Goal.
