On Air is a live album by the Rolling Stones released on 1 December 2017. The standard versions of the album contain 18 live and studio recordings of the band aired on the BBC in 1963–1965. It emerged 20 years after initial newspaper reports that such an album could be forthcoming.

Both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones had their beginnings, beginnings that are really not that significant for the most part, while The Beatles came into their own with Rubber Soul, it was the album Aftermath that stepped The Stones into their formal place in history, so, the cover material you’re getting here was certainly done better by others, yet there are. some delicious defining moments that make this collection worth your while. December 1st sees the release of The Rolling Stones ‘On Air’, an album full of BBC recordings from the 1960’s which offers a unique insight into the formative days of the band. This is the Stones where it all started, playing the music they loved so much – Blues, R&B and even Country. Every track has been revolutionary restored via ‘Audio Source Separation’ and you will be able to hear the remarkable difference this makes to each song

This album follows the recent release of The Rolling Stones – On Air coffee table book, by Richard Havers and published by Virgin Books. 32. 2120 South Michigan Avenue Rhythm and Blues, 1964. The rolling stones – on AIR will be released by polydor records/ume on december 1, 2017.

On Air è una raccolta del gruppo rock britannico Rolling Stones pubblicata il 1º dicembre 2017 dalla Interscope Records. On Air è una compilation costituita da tracce dal vivo ed altre incise in studio di registrazione eseguite dai Rolling Stones e trasmesse in vari show della BBC nel periodo 1963-1965, inclusi brani blues e cover di rock 'n' roll, oltre a primi successi a firma Jagger/Richards come The Last Time e (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

Heavily bootlegged over the years, the Rolling Stones' BBC sessions from the '60s didn't see official release until 2017, when Universal put out On Air as both a single-disc and double-disc set. The Stones first entered a BBC studio in October 1963 when they were peddling their debut single, "Come On," and their last session arrived in September 1965, just after releasing "Get Off of My Cloud" as the sequel to the smash "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction. During these three years, the Stones racked up several number one hits in the .

The Rolling Stones will collect 18 recordings the band performed on the BBC from 1963 to 1965 for the upcoming compilation On Air. The collection, due out December 1st, culls the Rolling Stones’ performances from BBC shows like Saturday Club, The Joe Loss Pop Show, Blues in Rhythm, Top Gear and Yeah Yeah.

Notes

A BBC recording
For all tracks that have been through Abbey Road's new de-mix process, original BBC master tapes and transcription discs have been used wherever possible to ensure the best available sources. The de-mix process then gives the engineers access to the individual instrumentation and vocals within the track so they can be rebalanced and remixed into a fuller sounding performance.
