Considering Molly Hatchet had been a successful act for nearly a decade up to this point, a double live LP seemed like a token gesture in 1985. The original LP included two previously unreleased tracks: 'Walk On The Side Of Angels' and 'Walk With You', though these were removed on the CD version of the album, so as to fit everything on a single CD. Both took a 'walk' so to speak. From 1985 onward, the band went into a cryogenic state, not releasing a new studio album until 1989. The notable exception being 38 Special, though they had dropped their original roots for something more radio oriented and commercial. Still, 'Double Trouble Live' is a worthy addition to your collection. Posted by Zen Archer at 11:29:00 PM.

This is the first Molly Hatchet album with only two guitarists, after Steve Holland had been replaced by ex-Danny Joe Brown Band keyboard player John Galvin and the return of drummer Bruce Crump. The sound of the album is quite different from the southern rock of the band's earlier offerings, completing the transition towards more commercial and FM-friendly hard rock. The cover of "Freebird" and "Edge of Sundown" were songs usually performed by lead singer Danny Joe Brown and The Danny Joe Brown Band during his period of absence from Molly Hatchet.
By 1984, Molly Hatchet felt that they needed to emulate some of the commercial sheen shown by fellow southern rockers ZZ Top, who'd been catapulted to superstar status with the release of Eliminator. Enlisting the latter's recording engineer Terry Manning to produce their new record certainly made The Deed Is Done a more radio-friendly prospect, as well as the welcome return of an axe wielding, armored warrior. 14. On stage is where this band pulled no punches, and it’s no surprise that their label released exclusive, vinyl only promo LPs to radio stations, with CD1 completed by a show recorded at Lakeland Civic Center Arena in 1980, and simply titled Live. By the time that 1983’s No Gut. o Glory was released, Danny Joe Brown had returned to the mic stand, and again the band were joined by famed producer Tom Werman twiddling the studio.
