In The Moon Cage focuses on Mitar Subotić, a Serbian producer who recorded as Rex Ilusivii and Suba. Subotić isn't around to soak up the attention that comes with retrospectives like these; he died after a fire swept through his Brazil studio in 1999. The previously unheard recordings on In The Moon Cage date back to 1988. The first 12-inch contains four compositions. The album's C-side is given over to two "annexes" of "Moon Cage. Trickling water and acoustic guitar pervade the first, while the second sucks out any organic textures for something stark, beatless and eerie. The final side in the package features an etching. In The Moon Cage presents just one facet of Subotić's catalogue, as Ivkovic apparently is sitting on a wealth of unheard material.
Serbian electronic music pioneer Rex Ilusivii (The King of Illusions in Latin) left an extensive collection of never-heard-before musical gems in his mother’s place, and other secluded corners of the world. They have been properly archived, years after his death in a studio fire in Brazil in 1999, the evening of the promotion of the São Paulo Confessions album he made as Suba.

In The Moon Cage' captures six lush and spellbinding shots of previously unheard material realised by the Serbian producer circa 1988, framing a vast, digitally-rendered world perfused with Eastern-enchanted vocals, amorphous synth scapes, balearic bird calls and plangent ambient guitar work tripping lines between abstract, esoteric styles best associated with Coil, Muslimgauze, or even JG Thirlwell. Rex Ilusivii (The King of Illusions), dug out by Salon Des Amateurs resident Vladimir Ivkovic to mint his Offen Music imprint.
