do not understand all these comments here about the way of production and how good he was once and apparently should not be anymore?! I'm a big fan of dza and with this album, two have come together so well together and the beats go so well with dza! I'm surprised that this album is not on vinyl?!

Pete Rock no longer believes in his own statement he made cussing the new age.. seems like he tried to appease the audience he was dissing last year on Twitter?? Or maybe he's confused with where to go next?

I like SD and am obviuosly a long time PR fan and would have him in my top 10 producers of all time. You know what to expect with SD and thats what you get but The problem with this album is Pete's production sounds like an average beatmaker from about 10 years ago. There's nothing here that stands out. It's all bland.

"Real heads don't wanna hear 1 million hi hats on a song." Singleminded purist remark. YOU might not like that many highhats on a track, but that has no implications on the authenticity of one's love for this music we call hiphop.

Completely disagree with the review. The sound is clearly Pete Rock, but updated to this millenium. Soulfull, but thugged out, kinda like Harry Fraud beats but without the 80s rock samples. Really suits the rappers that are on board too. Love it!

I disagree with this -- there are standout tracks, for instance "Milestone". There are issues though and it certainly has to do with production. Pete is trying to force the "new" sound especially on the first few tracks and it's tough to listen to. Real heads don't wanna hear 1 million hi hats on a song. This is also another project that wasn't recorded together between MCs, meaning tracks were e-mailed back and forth which makes it not as cohesive in my opinion. Could have been much better.
