The songs of Carlo Alberto Rossi have long since achieved international acclaim outside of his native Italy, so it's only fitting that pianist Renato Sellani would include his work in his series of CDs dedicated to individual Italian composers. With his frequent collaborators Massimo Moriconi on bass and drummer Massimo Manzi, he samples 13 gems from the vast repertoire of Rossi. Vittorio Franchini is right on the money by comparing his music to that of Jerome Kern and George Gershwin, as Rossi's lyrical melodies stick in one's memory. The trio's performances of the loping.

Renato Sellani (8 January 1926 – 31 October 2014) was an Italian jazz pianist and composer. Born in Senigallia, Sellani started his professional career in 1954, when he entered the Basso-Valdambrini Quintet. In 1958 he started a long collaboration with his longtime friend Franco Cerri. He was part of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra directed by Gorni Kramer
An outstanding and magnificent Jazz Funk jewel and the first album ever by this killer combo led by Dino Piana & Oscar Valdambrini. An original Jazz Library recording used for the soundtrack of Rai TV programme "SERATA AL GATTO NERO", 1973. Top Italian groovy Jazz and mental album, easily a grail of the genre featuring some terrific breaks, killer Wah Wah guitar and Funky Hammond job, with a solid backing studio orchestra. Loads of laden stylish grooves with brilliant Modal Jazz numbers, smooth vibes, and Cool Jazz influences with different musical themes.
