The first (and initially planned to be the only) event took place at the Royal Albert Hall on September 20, 1983, with subsequent dates occurring in the United States, with slightly different lineups of musicians. The concert was billed as The Ronnie Lane Appeal for ARMS and featured a star-studded line-up of British musicians, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts. The concert was particularly notable in the fact that it was the first occasion on which Clapton, Beck and Page, each a former lead guitarist for The Yardbirds, had performed together on stage. The set list for the ARMS Charity Concert Video was as follows: Eric Clapton. Everybody Oughta Make A Change.
Billed as The Ronnie Lane Appeal for ARMS, the show featured a historic cast of British rock heavyweights including Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts. Lane died in 1997, but his music lives on. A compilation album Ooh La La: An Island Harvest by Ronnie Lane and Slim Chance, released in 2014, provided a magnificent 37-track distillation of Lane’s recordings after leaving the Faces. And in a heart-warming postscript to the story, a slimmed-down Slim Chance featuring Steve Simpson, Charlie Hart, Steve Bingham and Alun Davies, reconvened in 2010 with a mission to create a show which celebrates the range of Ronnie’s later music.

Concert creator and host Ronnie Lane, former bassist for 'Faces' and 'The Small Faces' is himself a sufferer of Multiple Sclerosis. The concert was notable in that it was the first occasion on which Clapton, Beck, and Page, each a former lead guitarist for 'The Yardbirds', had performed together on stage. Most notably, during the Clapton song 'Layla', each of the three performed a different, and unique, guitar solo. Track List: Featuring Eric Clapton
