Bijaya Vaidya is a former sitar player for the Nepalese musical group Sur Sudha. He is now pursuing a solo career with a new band called Bijaya Vaidya and Friends. After creating his own new Standing electric Sitar with Pizzo mic in 2005. In 2007 he added some more different type of pickups and tap microphone to have better quality electric Standing Sitar. Bijaya Vaidya create Rock Sitar band with experience and well known musicians of Nepal. With the mixer sound of Mountain, Hills and Flat land of Nepal With Western and Eastern Instrument. Bijaya Vaidya is most commonly identified with the name Sur Sudha, another instrumental performing group he actually pioneered all the way to fame, back in the 90s. This time around, Bijaya Vaidya has reinvented his artistic effort in the form of a RockSitar.

Bijaya Vaidya has reinvented his style of playing with an entirely new concept, a standing electric Sitar. His new rock sitar offers an electric fusion of rock and eastern classical and Nepali sounds. Playing the sitar standing is a novelty in itself and even more noteworthy is the undoubtedly different sound intonation that emerges.
