The Banner is a relatively unknown hardcore/horror punk style band out of New Jersey. I only know of them because I was being a vulture at my downtown music store when they were going out of business and I happened to pick it up. You might throw this into the commonly overrated pile of hardcore crap, but if you ever have a chance to get a copy of this album, you may find that it is better than you think. They released this in 2004 on Blackout!/Brightside Records.
The double-guitar attack of Garrett Defalco and Kevin Manion drives Your Murder Mixtape, escorted by a pummeling, fat bottom rhythm capably maintained by drummer Ian Phoenix and bassist Chris Fingers. Out in front, vocalist Joey Southside doesn't give these songs life as much as he gives them death. His Drano-gargled depictions of decaying corpses on "Zombie Onslaught" aren't for the faint of heart
Your Murder Mixtape is the first full-length album from New Jersey, . It was released on Blackout Records in December, 2003 and it follows the Posthumous EP which was released in the same year. The album takes influence from several musical styles with an overall melodic hardcore sound. In line with the band's horrorcore imagery, the cover depicts a photograph of a cassette tape clipped to a blood-soaked diary
