Pause for a Hoarse Horse is the debut album of British rock band Home. The record was released in 1971 by CBS Records. The band's line-up consisted of Cliff Williams on bass, Laurie Wisefield on guitar, Mick Cook on drums and Mick Stubbs on guitar. It also featured keyboardist Clive John. The album did not make much headway and was one of only three albums released by the group from 1971 to 1973. All songs written by Mick Stubbs, except where noted.
Pause For A Hoarse Horse is a music studio album recording by HOME (Eclectic Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 1971 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Home's first album is based around the excellent guitar work of Laurie Wisefield (who would go on to join Wishbone Ash) and the distinctive vocals of principal songwriter Mick Stubbs. Indeed, with Stubbs also contributing guitar, there are passing similarities with the music of Wishbone Ash. The tracks, while relatively short, are finely crafted, mixing softer vocal sections with louder guitar driven passages.
But while there was nothing seriously flawed or irritating about the album, there was nothing special about the material, largely written by lead singer Mick Stubbs.
