Gail Davies' newest album, co-produced with t Chris Scruggs, was recorded at The Beech House in Nashville by Mark Nevers and features such world renowned musicians as Richard Bennett, Willie Weeks, Chris Nole, Kenny Malone, Chris Scruggs and Bob Mummert. Three of the songs on this album were originally written for Gail's RCA band Wild Choir but were never released until now. This album also contains five songs written by Ron Davies, best known for having penned "It Ain't Easy" for David Bowie.
Producing her second album, The Game, in 1979, Davies continued to bring a new perspective to country music. Her third album, Giving Herself Away, released in 1982, included the single "'Round the Clock Lovin'. Oslin, the single reached the ninth position on the charts. The year proved monumental. Produced by James Taylor's bass player, Leland Sklar, Davies' fifth album, Where Is a Woman to Go, released in 1984, climaxed with a rendition of John Prine and Bobby Braddock's tune "Unwed Fathers," featuring harmony vocals by Dolly Parton.
