Nacht may not have album of the year material but it is precisely packed full of cold, frostbitten goodness. The primary instrumentals, namely Des Lichtes Sterben I and II are so mesmerizing yet foreboding at the same time. Both tracks are fashioned with one thing in mind; evoking a sense of paralysing coldness. Paysage D'Hiver would be an amazing project if Wintherr would perhaps lighten up a bit on the production. This is just TO raw to be enjoyable in my opinion. The Epitome of Cold Black Metal - 91%.

Paysage d’Hiver’s eighth full length album from 2004, Nacht, or Night in English, follows the typical minimalistic and repetitive approach Wintherr so frequently uses, but changes up the formula by trying to convey the darkness of night over the savagery of winter.
