Carlos y Jose were one of the longest running and most successful groups in traditional norteño music with over 85 albums to their name, spanning since the beginnings, all the way to the 90's. They are without a doubt a mainstain in many Mexican parties, events, and gatherings with songs such as "El Chubasco", "Flor de Capomo", "Amores Fingidos", and among others. Carlos Salazar (9) (Lead Vocals and Accordion) founded the band in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, with Jose Rodriguez (15). But, they began their professional career in Camargo, Tamaulipas in 1968.

This massively prolific duo got their start in Camargo in Mexico's Tamaulipas state in 1968, led by accordionist and singer Carlos Salazar. Bajo sexto player Jose Rodriguez anchors the sound, and their backing group includes sax, percussion and electric bass. The band has enjoyed consistent success over the years. Early hits included "El Nuevo Albur De Amor" and the corrido "La Mata De Sandia.
