Boris at Last - Feedbacker. A band of many faces. Many places you look you may see they pigeonholed as "stoner rock", labeled as doom, or slapped with a drone tag. While none of these are technically, "wrong". I think kage hit the nail on the head, when he simply called them alternative. Great things require patients, and listening to this album is really a prime example of this. The actual music doesn't start until about a minute or so in, you can tell there in no rush. When things do come in, they come in roaring, fuzzed out low end feedback that wafts on, a lot of people would say it drones on, to me that is a bit of an understatement, to me drone kind of means its lumbering around, and you're just waiting for it to pass, this on the other hand swirls around you, it starts. as simply noise, but slowly becomes more articulate until, your surrounded by its energy.
On Feedbacker, Boris present probably the most aptly title song-album ever, with a 44 minute noise rock drone monster. The song is typical Boris fare, which is a good thing: the song slithers in as some soft noise overlaid with heavy, droning guitars, playing a very sexy, but slow as shit, rif. more like a few chords than a riff
